As of December 20, there were just over 17,000 food recalls reported in the United States.

According to a Food Safety News article, as many as 4,000 of the food recalls could affect more than 8 million people.

“Foodborne illness and death can be devastating to people and their families, and they can take months to resolve,” the FDA wrote in the report.

“In many cases, people will not be able to get enough protein or fat to maintain their healthy weight and health.

That’s why the FDA recommends people reduce their protein and fat intake and eat less than 1,000 calories a day.”
